Where to report a scam at your bank
Your bank is the first free route and where a reimbursement claim starts. Call 159 where it is supported — it connects you to your own bank's fraud team and no scammer can spoof it — or use the number printed on your card.
The 159 short code
159 is a secure short code that routes you to your own bank's fraud team, in the same way 999 routes to the emergency services. It is the safest way to end a suspicious call and reach the real bank: hang up first, then dial 159. Standard call charges apply; most providers include it in inclusive minutes. Not every bank has joined, so the card number is the fallback.
