What this tool does and does not do

It reports what official UK sources say, and links to them.
It is not advice, and it is not a judgement about any firm or person.
It cannot tell you whether you will get money back, and it never assesses claims.
Absence from the Warning List is not a clean bill of health.

If you have lost money

These four routes are free to use. Take them in this order.

1. Your bank — Contact your bank immediately. Under the reimbursement rules banks must investigate authorised push payment fraud claims.
2. Financial Ombudsman Service — Free, independent adjudication if your bank or provider rejects your complaint.
3. Action Fraud — The UK's national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime.
4. FCA consumer helpline — 0800 111 6768 — For questions about whether a firm is authorised and what protection you have.

We do not assess claims, estimate compensation, or put readers in touch with solicitors or claims management companies. There is nothing to pay for any of the routes above.
